A Bump In The Road

On the evening of our first aperitif, a snafu at PayPal caused our QR code to not work. Erroneously our patrons and friends were getting a message that said, our organization was not eligible for donations. This was absolutely wrong. We are in fact, a 501(c)(3) and each and every donation to our organization is tax deductible.

Because the QR code did not work with a larger crowd and a crowd that certainly knew the artistic team very well, a group that included family and friends, we estimate that we lost around $2,000 that night. PayPal had intimated that they would match the fund from the next event, which was over $1,700. To date they have not done so.

We have a $2,000 that we HAVE to pay. We are asking every friend, follower, opera lover, and lover of the arts to chip in $2-$5 to push this over the $2,000 threshold today and tomorrow.

We are proud to introduce the Southern Opera Theatre Company, bringing exciting seasons of world-class opera and musical theatre productions to the region. Our debut season is still two years away, but we are launching now with multiple get-to-know-us salons in Georgia and Alabama in Summer 2023. We are in a time crunch to raise seed money for these “Apéritifs” via donor recruitment. We must reach our goal of $6000 in the next 5 days!
