Carroll County Schools is moving to a Distance Learning Day on Tuesday, January 21 due to extreme cold and forecast of snow. This Distance Learning Day includes all students and faculty. All Tuesday after-school and extracurricular activities are canceled. Schools and teachers will be sending out specific information and assignments to students. Please refer to our Distance Learning Day webpage for more information.

Based on various weather models, the path and impact of the storm is uncertain for our area. All 220 - 240 day employees should report at 9 a.m. unless inclement weather makes it unsafe to report.

Our area is experiencing extreme cold, and there continues to be a possibility of snow which could make travel dangerous. Please take due precaution to care for yourself and your loved ones. We will provide further updates as needed.

After a recent weather update and out of an abundance of caution, Rome City Schools will move to an Independent Learning Day for staff and students tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 21, in keeping in line with our Keeping Schools Safe Initiative. Students and staff don't report to school. There will be no after-school activities on Tuesday. Please stay safe and remain weather-aware during this time. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.

Dear PCSD Community,

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Paulding County for Tuesday due to the potential for frozen precipitation and extremely cold temperatures. To ensure the safety of our students and staff, especially our bus riders and student drivers, all Paulding County schools will shift to a Digital Learning Day on Tuesday, January 21st. All after-school programs have been canceled and students and staff should remain home. District offices will be closed. Maintenance staff should contact their supervisor if they have questions.

We understand that unscheduled changes to the school schedule can impact families, so we do not make this decision lightly.
The safety of our 32,000 students and 4,500 staff members is always our highest priority. We will notify you if there are further updates. Please stay safe!

Due to the State of Emergency now in effect and the uncertainty surrounding the possibility for winter weather conditions to develop during the school day, Polk School District will be closed Tuesday, January 21, 2025, as part of our commitment to ensuring the safety of our students and staff.

Due to potential inclement weather expected in our area tomorrow, Oak Mountain Academy will transition to a REMOTE LEARNING DAY for all students on Tuesday, January 21st. Campus buildings will be closed, and all after-school activities are cancelled.

This decision prioritizes the safety of our school community while ensuring continuous learning for our students.
