CarringtonNews .Com Carrington News: A guide to Carrington, ND and the surrounding area, as well as to local/state news.

I (Judy Keller) love North Dakota and the Carrington area where I live. I enjoy administering a website where I can highlight all the news, fun activities, events and personal/business accomplishments that are taking place in our area. One of my very favorite pastimes is photographing the beauty of this area and its people. I thoroughly enjoy visiting with and learning from the people who follow m

y site. Also, since I created the "Memories of Carrington" group, it is a pleasure corresponding with people, both locally and from all over the country/world, who have an interest in Carrington's past. You will notice that I like to feature Prairie Paws Rescue and James River Humane Society, animal rescue groups located in Jamestown, ND. You can tell from this site how much I love animals and truly admire the people who rescue animals in need. I want to thank everyone who visits and participates in making this site a worthwhile adventure. Let's have some fun communicating with and learning from each other!

Every year Brenda Zink creates fantastic flower gardens all around the Zink farmhouse near Carrington. It's a delight to see not only the flower arrangements, but also the antiques that she incorporates into her landscaping. As you look at these pictures, just think of the time and energy it must take to accomplish these gardening works of art. Thanks so much to Brenda for inviting us out for lunch and to enjoy her beautiful gardens!

Dr. Dawn should get Business of the Century! We love Dr. Dawn and her crew!

Congratulations to Dr. Dawn's Pet Stop and staff on receiving the Business of the Month award for August!

“When our black lab had a seizure, we had to rush over to Dr. Dawn's. Dr. Dawn and her team were able to take us in immediately and were very understanding. When nothing was found in testing, Dr. Dawn took time to explain why dogs might have seizures and what to do to make sure he's comfortable if he were to ever have another one. Her and the staff’s compassion shined through as Dr. Dawn took time to explain why she was doing something, and the staff stood by to help with it all. They always go above and beyond not just for the pet owners, but for the pets themselves!”

Job well done! We're proud to have businesses like Dr. Dawn's Pet Stop in our community doing the most they can!

“Light yEARS of Corn” • A little heaven on earth! 💚💜💫 My redemption pic from missing out on the big Aurora show last night during the meteor shower. I figured I’d at least go and try to catch some meteors this evening. To my excitement, I also managed to capture the Aurora and I caught a meteor or two or three in a few frames! 💫😃🙌🏻💫 Here’s a favorite of the Perseid’s Meteor Shower with Aurora Borealis, taken right before Midnight, August 12, 2024! 💫💚💜

News around the Carrington Area & North Dakota in General...

CarringtonNews.com is the place to visit when you want to find out what’s going on in Carrington, ND, the surrounding area, and North Dakota in general. At first this site focused on news, events and activities in Carrington, but eventually spread out to covering news around the state. Being known as the Central City, Carrington folks pretty much travel to all corners of North Dakota, supporting activities/events throughout the region. That’s why you’ll find news here about Fargo, Bismarck, Grand Forks, Minot and more.

Carrington News is also a place where people who lived here in the past can visit to see what’s going on in their home town or make contact with friends from their high school days and earlier years.

We recently started a group called “Memories of Carrington,” which is becoming popular with folks who like to talk about the history of Carrington. It’s becoming a very interesting site with lots of old pictures and comments about Carrington’s past. We hope you will check out the group and add to the chat and information!
