Yesterday evening at approximately 9:30pm, 21-year-old Brandon McGrath tried to rob a taco stand at gunpoint, near Fruitridge Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The employees of the taco stand fought back and wrestled McGrath to the ground, knocking the gun loose. They were able to hold him down until Sacramento Police Department Officers and Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrived to take McGrath into custody. Deputies also recovered an unserialized Polymer styled manufactured handgun, used by McGrath during the attempted robbery.

Fortunately, no one was injured. McGrath was formally arrested and transported to the Main Jail, where he is being held on $260,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 7.
