In this moment of profound grief and heartbreak, we are so grateful for the gift and blessing of Carol’s life, for her strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for the comfort of fond memories and her victory in heaven and for all those who have surrounded Carol’s family, the girls and I with beautiful expressions of love, compassion and sympathy.”

Thank a Healthcare Hero
By Joe Koch, chief executive officer of Meadowview Regional Medical Center
As we continue to fight COVID-19, it has been so encouraging to see the outpouring of support from the counties we serve for Meadowview Regional Medical Center. We have always striven to be a place where you choose to come for healthcare, and we take our responsibility as a community leader very seriously. As our neighbors have come together to do everything possible to slow the spread of this vicious virus amid unprecedented challenges, we have never been more proud to be a part of this community. It is more important than ever that we all continue to take the important steps necessary to keep our community as safe and healthy as possible, including staying home as much as we can, practicing social distancing and following sound medical guidance.
Today, I would ask one more thing of our community, including myself: thank a healthcare hero.
Some moments ask more of us as a society, as a community and as individuals. Moments like those need heroes. From grocery store employees and delivery workers to educators teaching remotely and those keeping our infrastructure and essential services running, this current moment has no shortage of heroes. And that includes our heroes on the frontlines of this crisis – our healthcare workers.
Our healthcare workers are not only a cornerstone of our hospital’s mission of Making Communities Healthier, they are integral members of our community. They are moms and dads. Brothers and sisters. Friends and neighbors. And – today especially – they are heroes, fighting on the frontlines to provide compassionate, quality care when it’s needed most.
At Meadowview Regional Medical Center, we honor all our providers and employees working hard to ensure a safe place of care and a healthier community for all of us. I hope you will join me and add your voice to the chorus of appreciation for our community’s healthcare heroes by posting your own message of thanks on your favorite social media, with the hashtag . Let’s show our hometown heroes how much we appreciate their incredible and inspiring efforts to keep us safe.
And thank you again for supporting Meadowview Regional Medical Center and trusting us with your care as we help guide our community through the COVID-19 situation as safely as possible. We will get through this together.

HMH to open a Cough Clinic

Beginning Saturday, March 21, 2020, Harrison Memorial Hospital and local healthcare professionals will be offering a Cough Clinic to assist those with cough, fever and/or sore throat who may be concerned with the Novel Coronavirus COVID-19.

With no appointment needed, you can arrive at an isolated area which is on lockdown from the rest of the hospital. Once you arrive, you will stop at the entrance, sanitize your hands and apply a mask. After registration, HMH healthcare professionals in personal protective equipment will perform an extensive evaluation and determine if further testing is needed, which may include testing for the COVID-19. Due to limited tests, the provider will assess whether a COVID-19 test will need to be completed by a private lab. Not all patients evaluated will receive the COVID-19 testing.

During this time, this will keep our coughing patients away from our physician offices in the clinics, giving our other patients peace of mind to continue seeking necessary medical care.

The Clinic will begin on Saturday, March 21 from 1:00 pm – 8:00 p.m. and continue daily as needed. To find the clinic, please drive to the back of Harrison Memorial Hospital, past the Emergency Department, and follow the parking lot signs to an entrance with a ramp just above the Emergency Department.

You will register as a patient of the clinic and your insurance will be billed accordingly. You will need to have your identification card, insurance card and medication list upon arrival.

No visitor is allowed in our Cough Clinic. If the patient has someone accompanying him or her, that person will be requested to stay in his or her vehicle. The only exception will be for pediatric patients who will be allowed one healthy adult to accompany them.

HMH remains proactive in response to the COVID-19 pandemic by providing the best care for patients, the community and our employees.

If you have any questions related to COVID-19, please call 800-722-5725 or visit www.kycovid19.ky.gov or https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.
