The winter storm has caused power outages throughout Acadiana. According to poweroutage.us, a website that tracks power outages, over 12,000 customers were without power statewide at 8 a.m. today.

🚨 🚨UPDATE FROM LUS 🚨 🚨

Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) are asking that customers pause any high-water consumption activities, including turning off any faucets that may be left on or left running overnight as well as reducing washing machine and dishwasher usage. By reducing water usage, LUS can continue to maintain adequate water pressure levels.

I-10 is closed in both directions from I-49 to LA 415 (Lobdell) beginning on 1/21/2025 at 3 a.m. until further notice.

US-90 is closed at the LA 88 overpass (motorists can utilize the ramps) beginning on 1/21/2025 at 8:04 a.m. until further notice.

Latest on the snow from Meteorologist Dan Romano

BLIZZARD WARNING until Noon for all areas in red, including Lafayette Parish. This means we’ll have to contend with winds consistently gusting around 35 mph with visibilities dropping to or below 1/4 mile because of the snow.

This is the first time the NWS has issued a Blizard Warning for our location.
