Lafayette Parish residents can get water today in Scott, Lafayette and Carencro!

Water is being distributed for Lafayette parish families in need in youngsville Scott and Carencro:
In response to the impact of extreme weather conditions on our local water infrastructure, the Lafayette Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness
Bottled Water Distribution Locations:
The following locations will be accessible on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Limit 1 case per family.
Youngsville Sports Complex – 801 Savoy Rd, Youngsville, LA 70592, beginning 10:00 am
Scott City Hall – 125 Lions Club Road, Scott, LA 70583, beginning 11:00 am
Carencro Fire Station No. 3 – 911 W. Gloria Switch Road, Carencro, LA 70520, beginning 12:00 pm

Potable Water Available: Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) has also contracted with MACRO Companies to provide two 6,000-gallon potable water tankers, stationed at the following locations:

Youngsville Sports Complex – 801 Savoy Rd, Youngsville, LA 70592
Carencro Fire Station No. 3 – 911 W. Gloria Switch Road, Carencro, LA 70520

Residents are required to bring their own containers to fill with potable water as a spigot will be available for easy access. Families are asked to bring ID/provide proof of Lafayette Parish residency in an effort to ensure availability for all.

Winter Weather on I-10 Eastbound from I-49 MM (103) to LA-415 Northbound MM (152). All lanes closed

Looks like I-10 is the last major road that is still closed as of now.

The winter storm has caused power outages throughout Acadiana. According to poweroutage.us, a website that tracks power outages, over 12,000 customers were without power statewide at 8 a.m. today.

Parish governments throughout Acadiana are setting curfews due to the snowfall. These are the curfews we know as of now.

St. Mary Parish (5 pm to Wednesday 7 am)
Iberia Parish (5 pm to 7 am Wednesday)
Jeanerette (2 pm until 7 am Wednesday)
St. Martin Parish (4 pm to 4 pm Wednesday)
Acadia Parish (6 pm to 6 am Wednesday)
St. Landry Parish (5 pm to 5 a.m. Wednesday)
Opelousas (5 pm to 6 a.m. nightly until further notice)
Evangeline Parish (7 pm to 7 a.m. Wednesday)
