WIDESPREAD RAIN EXPECTED ON WEDNESDAY: A strong cold front, which will also tap into the remnants of Sara, will bring 0.5"-1.25" of rainfall to SWFL on Wednesday, starting in the morning. Our last widespread, soaking rain fell on October 9th in Hurricane Milton. Having been in 'dry season' for more than a month, flooding is not a threat. Neither is severe weather, but embedded thunderstorms cannot be ruled out. Much cooler air will build in behind this front Thursday through the weekend.

SARA UPDATE: Sara has the potential to produce catastrophic flooding in Honduras this weekend. What happens when it gets to the Gulf? The following is the most reasonable outcome for a storm in the western Caribbean this time of year. TROPICS CHECK: Nothing is threatening FL. The disorganized wave heading toward the Virgin Islands is expected to be ripped apart by strong winds later this weekend; hence why it's likelihood of development is down to 20%.
