Branding is all about application.

When it comes to brand design, we firmly believe that your brand should be able to work across multiple applications. In today's marketing world, it is hard to create one simple logo that works across every single application without changing a thing about it.

When you create a logo all around how it will look on social media but neglect how it will look on the sign in front of your store, it may not have as polished of a look as you would like.

That's why with all of our branding projects, we create all the different variations your brand will need as you apply them to all the physical representations of your brand.

Although we weren't designing t-shirts for this client specifically, we wanted to show what it looks like when your brand can easily work in use cases outside of what it was designed for.

When taking a look at your brand, make sure that your branding is flexible and able to be used in a lot of different scenarios. You never know what future projects you may need to incorporate your branding into as your business grows!

It's Tuesday which means that it's the best time of the week for those who listen to The Bless Up Podcast. 🎧

When TBUP approached us, they were looking to launch their podcast into the world as well as create branding that reflects their identity as a podcast.

It can be hard to give an identity to something that has never existed before. With the use of custom lettering and a strong black and white color palette, we were able to give a unique identity to TBUP through the main icon shown here.

After we established the branding, we moved on to actually launching the podcast online. Even though they record over 200 miles away, Laird Creative can cut, edit, and produce every episode of the pod, remotely handling every step of the production process. We don't even need to be in the same studio to make it happen.

When AMH Fresno reached out about overhauling their branding and building a completely new website, we knew that hitting their target audience was the main objective.

AMH is a network of ministry houses based in Fresno where young adults can live in Fresno experiencing about the culture and learning how to help the community on a daily basis.

When they reached out, they realized that the main goal was to create a clean and engaging brand image that draw people into their program.

Together, we designed the main icon using a custom color gradient to show the dynamic nature of the program. We wanted the "AMH" to be bold with the symbolism of a roof to allude to the "houses" that are a part of the program. The bridge of the "A" and "H" both are shaped specifically to look like a roof.

By the end of the process, we designed this full brand suite with multiple icon variations, a full color palette, and a custom font package to make sure that every piece of material would carry the new identity of AMH:Fresno

When the Tribe Collective came to us looking to brand their new organization, we were starting from scratch.

All of the verbal identity had been figured out but it was time to create visual branding to capture the essence and mission of the Tribe Collective. If you don't know, they are an ecumenical network led by multiracial church pastors of color to communicate, collaborate, cultivate, and fight against systemic racism in the church and in the world.

Turning their strong core values into branding that reflected who they are and what they are trying to do in the world was an honor.

One of the most overlooked and undervalued pieces of branding in the restaurant world is the menu.

When you think about it, this is the one piece of brand that every one of your customers will always interact with whenever they enter your restaurant.

Of course, it serves as an informational tool to help communicate exactly what you offer but people will make a lot of judgments and assumptions about the quality of your restaurant on the design of the menu alone even if just subconsciously.

When LULU came to us looking to rebrand, the menu was one of the first areas of focus for our strategy.

Have you ever wondered how successful companies create so much quality social media content?

When the Commonwealth Foundation was looking for someone to develop social media content on a regular basis to spread the word about education bills they had on the floor of the Pennsylvania government, they knew they needed someone who could understand their brand and mission and exactly who they were.

We worked with Commonwealth Foundation to develop a multi-week marketing campaign that would communicate the importance of this bill and what it would do to help children in Pennsylvania have access to better educational resources.

It's not just about having content, it's about creating meaningful connection through your content.

The reality of a successful social media campaign is that every piece of content is created and curated to communicate something bigger and more important about the brand as a whole.

When Bonnie approached me with the vision for her brand new Physical Therapy practice, she knew that she wanted to meet a serious need in her community but had no idea what specifically she needed from a marketing perspective.

Since her brand was starting with the bare bones- not even an established business name at the start of our process-- we spent time learning about what she was trying to create. After several consultion calls, we decided that starting with the messaging and branding of her new business was going to be crucial to her initial success.

Getting to develop the branding of a business from the ground up is always such a unique and exciting project.

Through the process, we developed both verbal and visual branding to reflect the core values of her practice. AgeWell Physical Therapy was born from her heart to serve the aging population in her community where there is a huge need for preventative care and physical therapy services. The tagline that we came to : “Preventative Care for Successful Aging” perfectly captures her mission.

By the end of the branding process, through many hours of market research and revisions, we developed her brand from the ground up - everything from the name "AgeWell" and it's mission statement, to the tag-line and brand story that help communicate the purpose of AgeWell and what sets them apart.

Next, we worked through the visual elements of the Logo, Wordmarks, Brand Colors, and all things a brand uses visually to connect people with the verbal branding we had created for the business. Every element, from the colors to the font, were selected or created to perfectly communicate the story of AgeWell before a client ever even experiences their services.

"Who doesn't love a signature logo?

When Taylor reached out about working on a logo for his photography business, he really wanted something that would express the personal nature of his brand while creating a professional image that potential couples would trust. Through the design process, I felt really drawn towards the handwritten logo style to hit both of these branding targets for TPI Photography. After our rounds of revisions, we landed on this handwritten script and wrapped up the design process.

"I have often found that when it comes to my branding clients, the temptation can be to throw out all previous branding and start from scratch.

When LULU Taqueria + Mezcal approached me, they already had an established restaurant with a loyal following. What they really struggled with was identifying who they were and communicating that to their customers. Over the past few months, we've been working to clarify the brand of Lulu and establish targeted strategies to form the identity of who they are as a restaurant. Branding is a vague term because when done correctly, there are a lot of elements that go into it.

One of the first things we worked on was tweaking the visual branding to give more of an identity and clarity to who they are. I worked to tweak their existing elements with refreshed colors, sizing, fonts, to match the values they hold as a restaurant and as a family. The logos above are the final result of the visual branding portion.

Even though we are living in an increasingly digital world, there will always be a need for solid physical poster design.

A while back, Citizens Akron approached me to design a flyer to promote their camps for kids that they run throughout the summer. The main goal was to make some fun and engaging to attract kids to the camp while still maintaining the professional brand that they have built over the years. To achieve this, I pulled a lot of the colors from the beach ball in the picture and used a lot of loud, primary colors to give the flyer a lot of fun energy.

I absolutely love designing websites because it gives your clients the chance to fully experience your brand.

With a website, you have full control over the full experience a potential customer gets when experiencing your brand for the first time. It is a mixture of curated information, branding statement, and visual elements that all come together to give a really immersive experience for your prospective customers.

This website for the Absurd Conference came with a ton of customized needs. Not only did it need to make it easy and compelling to buy tickets to the conference but it needed to hold content through a subscription model to keep people engaged throughout the year when the conference wasn't happening.

There is something about when a logo gets printed that makes the branding process that much more fun.

This branding project in particular was an absolute blast to work on because of everything that the Tribe Collective movement means. Not only is it run by good friends of mine but the mission of the Tribe Collective is absolutely something that I want to support and help share the story of.
