We had an amazing time at Thiel College sharing our journey from employees to business owners with the next generation of entrepreneurs! It was great connecting with students over dinner and a presentation on the challenges and rewards of business ownership.
Key takeaways? Treat every connection like it could be your next big opportunity. Relationships are everything. We also emphasized that work-life balance is key. "You’re replaceable at work, not at home."

Today, we come together to remember and honor Mark McConnell, the visionary founder of McConnell Marketing, who has sadly passed away. In 1991, Mark established our company with a deep commitment to excellence in the hospitality industry, laying the foundation for what we are proud to continue today.

In 2015, he passed the reins to Katie Swain and Megan Magnetta, who have since entrusted his legacy to Carson Lisko and Deanna Clement. We are privileged to carry forward the values and vision that Mark instilled in every aspect of our work.

Mark’s dedication, leadership, and passion have left a lasting impact on all of us. We strive daily to uphold the high standards he set and to honor the legacy of a man who inspired so many. Thank you, Mark, for the remarkable legacy you left behind. You will be deeply missed, but your influence lives on in all we do.

Join us in wishing our mentor and friend, Katie, a kind farewell!

Katie has been an integral part of McConnell Marketing’s growth for the last 22 years. She was a constant positive presence, encouraging us all to be better people both inside and outside of the office.

Katie’s departure lends more time for her to focus on Brown Horse Projects, her non-profit which cultivates healing and dignity among people living in Haiti.

SEO is for more than just websites. Did you know that social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok use the technology for suggested content?
Here are some tips to improve your social media SEO and get your account in front of as many people as possible.

🌱 Use keywords: Write descriptive captions that use the keywords your audience may be searching for. If you're not exactly sure what keywords are going to boost your posts, try searching the web for "[your industry/product]" + "keywords".
🌱 Include hashtags: Hashtags may seem like an artifact of the past, but in truth, they are still a great way to get your content discovered. Since hashtags are intentionally used for discoverability, using the right ones can get more eyes on your brand.
🌱 Be Consistent: This may seem obvious, but the more you implement the same practices, the easier it is for IG or TikTok to tell what your account is all about. This helps to teach the algorithm that you frequently post about what people are looking for.
