I usually make light of my less than stellar safety record but this one was a very close one. I'm banged up but not dead. Flipped it while seat belted in. My head was under water in the creek, perfectly placed between two rocks that would have been game over. Mower caught on fire due to oil on the exhaust. Arm was pinned between my chest with the weight of the mower over me but I was able to get the seatbelt off after what felt like forever (prob 20 seconds). I'm bringing in some pipe and some fill to eliminate the risk. This was a wake up call for sure.

-15f degrees and 43mph winds caused a pipe to freeze and burst. On an unrelated note, I've turned our theater into a indoor pool. The stadium seating ramps make it an easy transition into the water. FML.

So far, all this system needs is about 20 gallons of distilled water to recover the batteries every 6 months (believe it or not, it will boil off 3-4 gallons a month during the charging process!) Happen to also get our power bill today with zero power used. The service fee of $14 a month is worth the peace of mind of having a backup IMO.

It's been a few years but we have kids back in the family this year so I dragged out the rope tow for sledding this winter. Built some new offset towers (big upgrade), gave her a few more ponies under the hood and she's ready to work!
