Bad news. One of the subjects of our street racer documentary was killed early this morning. it appears Bad Kitty ran her motorcycle at high speed into the rear of a truck on the 405 freeway near Seal Beach blvd. CHP investigating.

We’re devastated at the news. I expected this, but nevertheless I’m crushed. She was an amazing rider and sweet person. She leaves behind her common law wife Bad Bunny and Bunny’s children she helped raise as her own.

Thank you to all who came last night to the August Complex movie premiere and made it such a memorable event! It meant the world to us!

We were especially thrilled that CalFire Div. Chief Aldo Gonzalez was able to join us. He shared that he was emotionally moved by the movie, seeing the very bolts that started the fires he dedicated months of his life to extinguishing.

Also thanks to Paul Gunsky and Dylan Cole at Cinelux who made it possible, troubleshooting until the very last second to make sure our movie played beautifully. And to Sheila Reno who put us in touch with Paul and team.

What was the August Complex?

The August Complex Fire was California’s first — but certainly not last — gigafire. Sparked by an earth-shattering lightning storm in August 2020, the wildfire consumed over a million acres, destroyed more than 935 structures, and took 33 lives in a four month period.
