Original Post text: Coming May 13th!
This little book is jam packed with information! My 6 year old has always been curious about lobsters, and was asking questions and engaging with every page of this book. Not only is the imagery in this children’s book artistic and beautiful, the author and illustrator have also included diagrams and informational graphics to further elaborate on parts of the story. This would go great with any kind of k-4 marine biology unit!

Join author Pat Rumbaugh of "Let's Play Outside" and the community of Takoma Park for their Winter Play Day! This Sunday, February 16, from 1-4pm, head to Piney Branch Elementary for face painting, dance, music, and all kinds of play! There will also be readings of "Let's Play Outside" in braille along with other books.

If you are looking for a children’s book about lobsters, look no further than The Little Lobster. This beautifully illustrated children’s book presents a very informative look on lobsters. I am an adult and I learned multiple facts about lobsters.

I have always loved lobsters. I lived in Maine for a few years as a child and lobsters and Maine hold a special place in my heart. I feel bad mentioning that I also like to eat them, but I do. Though, even more so, I love them as animals. My children like to look at them at zoos and grocery store tanks. I can’t wait to get this book out hen it comes out in print. I love reading books that help my children learn and I know they will love the illustrations.

This book is available in May of 2025. Thank you NetGalley and Star Bright Books for the digital ARC. My thoughts are my own and were not swayed by the receiving of the book. I really loved it and can’t wait to get my kids a print copy to read this summer.

Review of Anna & Natalie by Rina Zampieron:
This sweet book lures you in with its softly painted illustrations and playful language. At first, I found myself a little annoyed at the protagonist with the way she spoke to her sister, only to realize that her comments were directed at her seeing eye dog, and the tone completely shifted to one of loving nudging, rather than sibling teasing. I love how the book really focuses on Anna and what she can do and doesn't reveal her disability until the very end. I also appreciate the intention of the book as it shares back matter about the contribution of dogs to the war efforts, an often-ignored group. What a lovely book to share with students and families alike!
