Apartment in Moscow by .dpt. Studio

The apartment’s design concept is built around a two-dimensional composition of rhythmic straight lines, circles, and a dynamic wave. This approach references the modernist artists from the De Stijl group, which emerged in Europe in the 1930s. These artists based their architecture on abstract compositions, working with cohesive forms and colors.

The original layout was completely restructured, dividing the space into two halves. One side contains a study and a bedroom suite (including a walk-in closet, master bathroom, and bedroom), while the other side is an open space for entertaining. In the living room, a blue marble podium was added to house engineering systems and serves as a base for the sofa. Throughout the apartment, blue and brown tones interact, accented by red and orange highlights.

🔸In this project, a soft pink ceiling brings together the entire apartment space, complemented by a gypsum frieze running along the perimeter. "We made the kitchen bright orange to create a lively atmosphere, pairing it with a contrasting black quartzite countertop. The owner loves cooking and entertaining guests, so we selected a large dining table. The graphic veneer layout on its tabletop adds dynamism and highlights the texture. Orange threads woven into the upholstery of the chairs echo the kitchen's tone."

One of his notable projects involved the transformation of a historic Venetian villa. Guadagnino’s approach is not just an homage to Italian traditions but a bold exploration of how the past can inform contemporary design. His work combines Art Nouveau curves, daring color choices that defy conventional rules, and striking decisions that make his interiors as evocative, sensual, and alive as his films.
