I’ve had this age-gap forbidden romance on my Kindle Unlimited TBR for quite a while. With the frigid wintry weather here, it was the perfect time to enjoy a spicy sports romance that features an Olympic snowboarder and her orthopedic surgeon.

Cleo White writes characters that are easy to quickly connect to. Delta, her brothers, and her father provided a look inside the world of elite sports training where the needs of the athlete are eclipsed by the pressure to perform, even when the coach is your own father.

Delta’s personal growth, acknowledging what she truly wants in her life, and what she doesn’t, supported by Brooks all the way, was at the heart of this book. The pressure she is up against is heartbreaking.

I love how Brooks puts Delta’s future wellbeing ahead of what her father/coach wants in the short term. The relationship between Brooks and Delta grew organically out of a friendship both treasured. While this is an age-gap, doctor/patient romance, ethics is a deal breaker for me with these tropes. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but will simply say that Brooks handles the situation with professionalism and their relationship doesn’t begin to change until Delta is an adult.

This is a sports romance I will read again and I’m looking forward to enjoying more from this author.

I’m deep in my Fantasy/Romantasy Era, and since my pre-order of hasn’t shipped yet, I’m starting the Darkstone Academy series by Bliss Devlin while I wait for it.

There is clearly more to Jacinthe’s background than she is aware of, and I love her compassionate and nurturing spirit, optimism, strength, and honor. I can’t wait to see where this goes!

My young adult daughter has been working on an executive function workbook with her Occupational Therapist which got me thinking that, though I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD for over 15 years, this is an area that I could use help with. When I was asked if I was interested in reading this Executive Function 7-Week Power Up, I jumped on it!

Estelle Rose truly writes for the ADHDer with a blend of informative text to help grow your understanding of your ADHD brain, and concrete do-able actions. Even in the formatting of the text, breaking each week down into numbered sections with a mix of prose, bolded headings, bullet points, and doodle style graphics keep my attention focused.

This ebook has a link to a workbook that contains weekly task lists, trackers and exercises. This is essential to get the most out of this book in my opinion, and best of all, is at no additional cost to you. You can print it out, use a PDF annotation app to fill in, or as I’m doing since I’m old school, use a notebook to record your answers and thoughts.

If you have ADHD, I highly recommend this book!

I couldn’t resist one last holiday read and Chilled and Thrilled was everything I love in a romance novella! An age-gap, workplace, forbidden romance with her best friend’s dad, plus snowed in together over Christmas...um, YES, PLEASE! This book has all the spice you expect from Cleo White and characters that are fun and easy to connect to. The humor had me laughing out loud!

It’s easy to see that the next two books in the series will feature Bram’s daughters and the set up for the second book (a Valentine’s Day novella available 1/28) is introduced in Chilled and Thrilled. I already have it saved on my KU list!

Chillin’ at with my Bub while we wait for Cole to finish at the dentist is the perfect time to start Iron Flame by .

I’m new to Basgiath War College, having just finished Fourth Wing a few days ago and I am hooked on this fantasy universe!

Bub did amazing in our time at Starbucks, choosing his snack, where we sat, and telling me when he was ready to go back to the car because it was loud. He even tried my egg bites! This whole experience was a big win for him following a week that’s been a struggle. Proud right here!

First Light is an absolutely captivating story that I regret not reading sooner. Elizabeth Hunter is a master of intricate world building, and she brought those skills, together with her knowledge of Celtic mythology and fairytales, to her creation of the Shadowlands. The Shadowlands are a mirror of our own world (Brightlands), and yet so different with its magic, dragons, and dangerous Fae who control so many aspects of human life.

I was totally engaged from the start as my mind raced to fit together the pieces of the characters’ personalities and backgrounds along with the magic system of the Shadowlands, all while constantly reframing and rearranging my thoughts and hypothesis as more information was revealed. First Light contains the investigation of a cold case murder, which was so well done with multiple suspects.

I’m left intrigued by the identity/background of Carys’ mother, curious about how the relationship between Carys, Lachlan, and Duncan will play out, and shocked by the bombshell comment by Carys’ friend back home in Northern California at the end of the book. I cannot wait to read the next book in the Shadowlands series!

Why did I wait so long to start Fourth Wing? 🤯 I knew this book was one I would love and have had it on my shelf for at least a year. I have no reasonable explanation, but am so glad I finally started it. 😍

I just finished ordering Iron Flame and getting in my pre-order for Onyx Storm so I’ll be ready for all those posts on release day!

Elliott Rose does it again! This sweet and spicy novella was a delicious return to Crimson Ridge for another age-gap cowboy romance. At 148 pages, Bouquets and Buckles can be read in a single sitting, and while it doesn’t have the same level of drama and character development as the previous books in the series, which are longer, it was still a five star read for me. It totally delivered on its promise of a satisfying HEA for Luke and Skylar while providing all the spicy snowed-in, best friend’s dad, age-gap goodness with characters that I immediately felt invested in.

Lucas Rhodes is what cowboy dreams are made of with his phenomenal dirty talk, desire to take care of Skylar while still supporting her dreams and independence, and when he places his cowboy hat on her, be prepared to swoon and sigh!

Did you stuff your Kindle yesterday? I picked up over 20 books and have already read a few of the holiday novellas.

Today I’m feeling in a hockey romance mood and started reading Taught by the Coach by Alyson Archer, one of the books I chose yesterday. A big thank you to the author for gifting this book to readers!

Have you ever participated in a read-a-thon? I’ve done a few and it’s always fun to see what everyone is reading. I’m excited to be participating in a Booksgiving Readathon hosted by this week and chose to be part of a small group.

It’s going to be a busy day for me, so I’m listening to the audiobook of Twilight of Embers by Tessa Hale. It’s one I’ve read/listened to before, and absolutely love, so it’s perfect for me to have on while running errands and getting to appointments.
