Summer is upon us and it’s time for the annual Summer Reading Program at the local libraries. This year I decided to change it up and leave the bees on the Farm, instead I brought some baby goats for show and tell. The kids loved spending time with lil’Chloe and Buttercup. Thank you for having us be part of this amazing program.
Sincerely,
The Farmly Man, lil’Chloe and Buttercup

Moose is not so little anymore. He isn’t so curious about the fridge much. He lives to play with Suzy though.

The bell now lives on the front door for the dogs to ring. Let’s me know they need to go outside. It’s safer in the house than on Norman.

Moose!! Where are you? Learning curve having a cat at the farm is a little taxing at times. Lil’Moose is an indoor/outdoor cat, kool as kool can be. Stay tuned for Moose hiking with the dogs and I.

When you walk into Cotton's Country Store it’s like walking back in time. On the wall there’s a sign that says: All the World’s problems are solved here. The world’s problems are solved when you sit down at the communal dinner tables, enjoy some country cook’n, make new friends, and talk about the good things in life. No drama, no politics, just good people sharing life at the table. In this picture we all did just that, ate good food, had great conversations, and enjoyed good down home folk music by Maynard Shelton. If you ever visit my little ole’Homestead in the back holler you will most likely be going to Cotton’s Country Store to help solve the World’s problems. My time here in Tennessee is about making memories like these every chance I get.

Sir Drako (ND Buck/see pic) and Lady Skippy Lou (ND Doe 3rd Birth/see pic) have been blessed with the most handsome bucklings (see pics.) The bucklings (not yet named) will be looking for a new Kingdom to rule one day soon. If interested please DM me.
Breed: Nigerian Dwarf Bucklings
DOB: 06/29/2023
Location: Bybee, TN

Note 1: Mother was vaccinated during preganancy.

Note 2: I’m fortunate to spend most of my time with my herd. They are all gentle, know their names, and healthy. They get a mixed diet of kibble Goat feed/Chaffhaye, natural flora (grassland/forest), and local field hay. They free range in the woods and fields, contained during part of the day and at night.

Note 3: I take my Goat rearing seriously and have been blessed to have 4 healthy births (7 total) so far on the farm since December 2022. Serious inquiries only. Healthy homes/farms only. If for any reason it’s not the right fit I will happily take them back. Thank you

Everyone meet Luke! He is the newest baby here at the ole’Homestead. He is the kid of Lady Thelma Land of the Boer and King Norman of the Alpines. Healthy and full of energy. He is the size of the two bucklings born almost 2 weeks earlier. Stay tuned for more baby goat updates.

Lady Thelma is pregnant and giving birth today. Her milk bag had doubled in size in the last 24hrs. So that means she is giving birth with in the next 24-48hrs. This is a special birth for a lot of reasons. When the goats came to the ole’Homestead last year the Does were all pregnant by either Sir Drako or King Norman. Lady Skippy Lou and Rosie Mae gave healthy births, But Lady Thelma didn’t. It was negative temps Christmas Eve morning and the kid was stillborn. I made a cedar box and buried the goat kid under a Willow Oak tree I planted the year before. So yes today is a special day, I want Lady Thelma to have a healthy pregnancy. Also, hoping the papa is King Norman. Stay tuned for hopefully really good news. 🙏🏻🐐🙏🏻🐐
