BUTLER COUNTY TO GIVE OUT DRUG SETTLEMENT MONEY.

Commissioners approved agreements to allocate $736,490 to six programs.

BC3 will receive $92,000 to operate the Hope is Dope program for this year and $51,212 for the Personal Empowerment Initiative through June 30. Another $21,000 for the Personal Empowerment Initiative came from non-opioid funds.

The Center for Community Resources was awarded $71,883 for its housing coordinator position and reintegration apartment program for this year.

The Nonprofit Development Corporation will receive $393,200 to operate the recovery center for this year.

The Recovery Empower Institute LLC will receive $103,195.

Butler ambulance Service, East Butler Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance Service and Quality EMS will share $25,000

POSSIBLE CHANGES TO FOOD-STAMPS COMING.

This week, the Senate passed three bills to stop waste, fraud and abuse in Pennsylvania’s Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) and Medical Assistance program (Medicaid). The bills will be sent to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for consideration.

Senate Bill 155 would prevent deceased people from receiving benefits by requiring the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) to check death certificates at the Bureau of Vital Statistics against recipients of public assistance. A state audit previously found 2,324 deceased public assistance recipients received benefits totaling $700,000 in a 12-month period.

Senate Bill 156 would require DHS to compare wage records held by employers and the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue with public assistance recipients quarterly to prevent fraud. From 2019-23, the Pennsylvania Office of State Inspector General filed more than 2,900 criminal complaints of welfare fraud, with more than $15 million owed in restitution.

Senate Bill 157 would update the Public Assistance Integrity Act to require DHS to issue a yearly report on its efforts to ensure lottery winners are not receiving cash benefits. The Public Assistance Integrity Act, a bipartisan initiative signed into law in 2018, closed a loophole that did not require lottery winnings to be considered as income when determining eligibility for benefits.

PRIVATE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST JOSH SHAPIRO - STATING THE GOV TRIED TO KILL PRESIDENT TRUMP.

Yah, you can not make this up... This all sounds like a good story, but the fact is this person is not a federal whistle blower, has no association with the government or PSP.

PSP Troop D tells Butler News that the OP (Page) that posted this information has no association with PSP. As well as the page is falsely claiming to be a government organization.

The same private criminal complaint was filed almost word for word in July of last year. And that private Criminal complaint was denied.

As a Republican myself, this is a bit far fetched. And the 2nd time this has gone viral in six months. It appears to be crap.

What in the hell was this on Fox News last night? I can not be the only one who caught it.

GARBAGE TRUCK ACCIDENT -TRUCK IS INSIDE OF THE BUILDING!! A garbage truck has just slammed into the Armco credit union on Hollywood Drive. Trying to get more information now. Staff at the bank is telling Butler News there is no injuries.

UPDATE: I know someone on scene talking to the police. He is confirming there was no shooting. There was a call for a shooting inside of the mall. I will update as the news comes in. Police are now telling everyone there was a 911 call for a "mass shooting" inside of the mall. PRANK CALL. Just another day inside of the Monroeville Mall. While someone shoots at people. Footage from inside of the mall right after the shooting. FIRST seen on Butler News.

Another banger of a Christmas commercial I have not seen on tv this year.

I have not seen this banger on tv this year - as really who watches local tv anymore. Does anyone remember the Eat and Park commercial from the 1990s? What a blast from the past.

I really do not understand if everyone has lost their minds. Or if something serious is about to happen. Now there are orbs along with drones. And it appears the orb loves Jesus. Man, 2024 has been weird. You can watch the video and make your own thoughts on it.

Clearview Mall kicks off the holiday season in 2015. Featuring the Polar Bear Express Christmas Train for kids. I do not think the mall has this anymore for the holidays.

CPCK Holiday Train kicks off the season in a town called Chesterton. As some might know this train travels around during the holidays. It is something else to see it at night. I have live video of this train at night in 2022 when I saw it in person. It was a sight to see.
