Thread launched in August 2011, with the goal of developing a dynamic bi-monthly arts & culture magazine in print, a publication independently created by some of the city’s most talented journalists, photographers, and designers. We could not have predicted the overwhelming response of support and enthusiasm from the Burlington community; and we have the people of Burlington to thank for making ou

r continued existence possible. We’ve produced 7 print issues with a circulation of 5,000, which were available for free at all the high-traffic areas of Burlington and surrounding cities. After our 7th issue, the Thread staff unanimously decided that our transition to exclusively digital content was the right move (see recent letter from the editor). We focus on authentic features that matter to our mostly 20 and 30-something reader demographic – art, politics, music, food & drink – Burlington/Vermont culture. We also want to play our part in social responsibility within our local community, so we are donating 10% of proceeds bi-monthly to a different charitable cause.
