For years I have journaled on and off. I would start and eventually lose motivation, get busy, distracted, and stop. 4 years ago I started this process. It is a culmination of all the things I liked in journals that felt sustainable. And I eliminated the things I didn’t like. The left side of the page is my plan for each day. I focus on the top half but sometimes get pulled to the things at the bottom. The right page is where I write down whatever is on my mind, no rules. I always struggled with answering the same questions in journals so I got rid of the questions🙄 The bottom of the right page is a reminder of how blessed I am to be doing what I love and to be surrounded by family and true authentic relationships I get to interact with every day. Over the last 4 years I have truly learned who those people are. Finally, before I write on todays pages, I read what I wrote on the same day the last 3 years. Great reminder of the journey I am on. Is this a strategy for success? I don’t know. It is a strategy to keep me focused and centered after I have spent some quiet time with God. It brings meaning and purpose to each day more than other traditional methods. Don’t copy this plan because it may not be right for you but do make sure you carve out some quiet time each day planning, reflecting, and being grateful.
