Tony Campbell, DJ Antbomb, was a mentor to so many artists in our area, including the local artists featured on Hot 97-3. He lifted up and encouraged those around him. I remember talking with him on his passion for helping youth and giving opportunities for growth and development to artists. He cared so much for his community. His positivity was infectious. We have lost someone so pivital to our music scene, and such an example of being a mentor to others. Tony’s music, his encouragement, his mentorship will live on - through all of those that he impacted in such a profound way.
May we all reach out to help others, lift people up and show compassion to one another in honor of Tony. One of the artists featured on Hot 97-3 is his daughter - artist Ri Ri. He was SO PROUD of her and so excited to hear her on the radio. I will never forget the conversation i had with him after her song first played. He was so proud. You can catch one of RiRi’s songs around 4:15 today on air. (She is on rotation). And I look forward to showcasing more of RiRi and all of the artists that loved Tony and were so deeply impacted by him. ❤️- Kara
