Jamal Isaiah Thorpe 28 years of age from Graham, NC
Kenneth Uriah Francis 29 years of age from Burlington, NC
Additional Charges against Derrick Spencer will be forthcoming.

At 10:26 pm on Friday, October 11, 2024 officers officers with the Graham Police Department responded to 412 E Hill Street for a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found two victims with gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead on scene and the second victim was air-lifted to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation Derrick Ramont Spencer, 52, of Graham was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of possessing a stolen firearm. The investigation is ongoing.

WBAG was honored to be at  Cavalier Stadium last night to witness this incredible tribute. Jersey #50 worn by Mason Jenkins seven-year-old who lost his life early last week and Jersey #63 worn by Malik Mebane who passed away less than 36 hours later, both members of the Cavalier family was carried onto the field as honorary captains. His son pictured second from the right and members of City of Graham NC Fire Department left this morning to help assist Buncombe County firefighters to service the needs of the community after the storm. Clay Davis and other members are relieving others that has been there for the last few days. (See comment photo) Todd’s son-in-law Andrew is a lineman and was dispatched before the storm hit. We say THANK YOU to all men and women that is working hard to help our friends in Western North Carolina. Praying for a safe return for all!!
