In Sound of Freedom we tell one true story about one man who was driven, in part by his faith, to save two specific children; trafficing is a massive issue that involves sexual and labor exploitation in so many forms.
Angel Studios has setup this website to talk more about the wider issue and about ways you can help.
There is a secondary conversation that I hope we as filmmakers and industry professionals can start to have about how audiences are desperate for stories with meaning over spectacle. This is how a $14m indie with very little marketing can enter the top 20 films of the year and make 100m+ at the box office with a diverse audience who loves a film and is filling theaters mainly through word of mouth.
The cinema is alive and can thrive if we start to tell original stories again, made with a wider audience in mind.
