The American Cinematheque has revealed the 2023 honorees for its third annual Tribute to the Crafts. We take pride in acknowledging our Warner Bros. Post Production Creative Services Sound Talent—Tom Ozanich, Dean A. Zupancic, and Richard King, along with our 2 Pop Music Talent, Jason Ruder, for being honored in the Feature Film Sound category for their work on ‘Maestro.’ They will be honored alongside Steven Morrow.

Academy Award-winning sound mixer Kevin O’Connell will also receive the Career Achievement Award for his extraordinary career spanning 270 film credits over 30 years. Kevin worked on ‘Barbie’ and ‘Oppenheimer,’ both films mixed at Warner Bros. Post Production Creative Services.

‘Tribute to the Crafts’ honors those who are at the heart of filmmaking and have exhibited extraordinary work behind the camera over the past year.

The honorees will be celebrated at the gala event at the American Cinematheque’s newly restored Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood on January 19, 2024.

We congratulate our honorees and look forward to celebrating them at the upcoming awards!

The MPI Restoration team, led by the talented colorist Skipper Martin, has put their hearts into bringing "The Devil Doll" back to life in stunning fashion for its 2023 Blu-ray restoration. Starting with a fresh 4K scan of the "original preservation elements" (a blend of the original negative and top-quality substitutes), they meticulously removed dust and debris while preserving the film's authentic textures.

The result? A consistently mesmerizing and sharp presentation that will enchant both seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers. Pay special attention to the magical moments in the "miniature" scenes; while a few seams and traces of dirt remain, the overall condition is nearly immaculate. All in all, this effort stands tall among their many releases from this bygone era.
