Madcap Horse Productions is composed of six teenagers that live in and around the Buffalo area. Their current project is a documentary film about grassroots organizations in Buffalo that look to better the environment. The goal has been to educate the public about these organizations and encourage community action. Team Members:
Mario Ayoub: Mario Ayoub is a homeschooled junior who lives in Clare
nce, New York. He has experience with media, and has spent nine months at Squeaky Wheel developing a film about the local food movement in Buffalo. Many long hours were spent out in the field filming. And even more were spent in a computer lab, editing and editing again. Mario has interacted with several non profit and grassroots movements in Buffalo and took part in World on Your Plate for the past two years. He looks forward to creating a film that will showcase some of Buffalo’s unique and extraordinary grassroots organizations, and bring to light the many positive aspects of Buffalo’s green movement. Abe Kenmore: Abe Kenmore: Abraham Kenmore, more commonly known as Abe, is pretty sure he has been a human being all his life. He has also been, in order of duration, a homeschooler, active member of his Quaker Meeting, writer, not-for-profit founder, amateur video maker, animator, and for one summer, a backstage techie. He is also a touch odd. Abe is interested in going into law, film, or journalism as a career. Alanna Sade Milberg: Alana is home schooled, and takes classes at Daemon College. She loves ballet and recently returned from dancing at Disney world. She assistant-teaches dance at the American Academy of Ballet. She also loves biology. This will be her first film project. Laura Colligan: Laura is a homeschooled teen from the suburbs of Buffalo. She started to become concerned in humans' impact on the environment at the age of five, when a show on PBS about the possibility of oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Today, all sorts of environmental issues interest her, from water quality to how to combat global climate change with alternatives like wind power and electric cars, but food issues are her true passion. She's actively involved with the local food movement and plans on going into sustainable agriculture. Elias Ayoub: Elias is a homeschooled freshman that lives in Clarence, NY. He enjoys pursuing his interests in the piano and the guitar, sports, film, and the environment. Throughout his life, Elias has worked with numerous grassroot organizations in Buffalo, whether it was simply taking a class from one of them or volunteering for these organizations. He is passionate about taking on this film about these organizations. This will be his second documentary film, the first was about a local restaurant business. Lucas Colon: Lucas Colon has been working with film for almost 4 years. He has worked with stop-motion animation, and has some experience with editing. This documentary will be the first he has worked on.
