Buffalo Music Hall Of Fame Inductee Class 2000 Percussionist, Composer, Producer, Band Leader, Educator Wendell Rivera. Rivera, a leading ambassador of Latin Jazz, an invigorating sound that incorporates Afro-Caribbean grooves with the free, melodic, and harmonic elements of progressive jazz. Rivera’s Latin Jazz Ensemble has been the cornerstone of Latin music in the Western New York/Niagara Falls region for more than two decades from the Lewiston Jazz Festival to the Buffalo Naval Park Little Rock Music Series, Wendall and his band have opened the world to his Latin jazz experience. As a percussionist, he has performed with artists as diverse as Aretha Franklin, Arthuro Sandoval, Ben Vereen, Dave Valentin, Bob Mintzer, John Patitucci, Ralph Irizarry, Yomo Toro, Tito Gomez, Oscar Hernandez, and Humberto Ramirez.

The George Scott Big Band plays a Holiday Extravaganza
at new music venue in South Buffalo
Three2Go Music Alliance presents The George Scott Big Band’s Holiday Extravaganza at the newly opened music venue, The Caz, 2221 Seneca Street in South Buffalo, on Wednesday, December 18 at 6:00 pm.
This holiday extravaganza features the 18-piece George Scott Big Band from the Historic Colored Musicians Club of Buffalo, NY. Performing with them is an international vocalist, Melissa Kate. The George Scott Big Band has been around for over two decades and has been the featured band at many fourth of July events at Canalside, M&T Plaza, the Rapids Theater in Niagara Falls and with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Vocalist Melissa Kate has been their featured singer since 2006. They bring dance, swing, modern and classic jazz and big band music to life through audience-friendly, fun and memorable performances.
The show is produced courtesy of Three2Go Music Alliance. Starting in January, Three2Go Music Alliance will offer exciting live shows every fourth Thursday at The Caz.
The Caz is a beautifully renovated venue with up-to-date video screens and sound, a full stage and beautifully decorated ceiling and wooden floors. Since its soft opening in late October and November it has already hosted a weekly array of tremendous local and national talent. Dinner is available at 6:00 pm (not included in the ticket price), and audiences are treated to a dynamic, focused listening experience when the show starts.
