🌟 **Autism is not something that needs to be "fixed" or "recovered from."** It's a unique way of experiencing the world, and every autistic individual brings their own special gifts and strengths to light. We are all beautifully and wonderfully made, just as God intended. πŸ’™

But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.”** – Isaiah 64:8 πŸ™

Let's embrace differences and see them as the gifts they are. Every person is a reflection of God's perfect design. Autism is not a curse but a testimony to the diversity and richness of His creation. 🌈✨

I am Supporting
Tom Sexton for Minnesota House Seat 19b

As the founder of Courage Rising and a mother invested in our community's future, I am proud to endorse Tom Sexton for Minnesota House Seat 19b. As a veteran and neurodiversity advocate, I believe Tom is the right choice for our community.

Raising children today comes with many challenges. We need leaders who will fight for policies that ensure a safe, prosperous, and supportive environment for our kids. Tom Sexton stands for smaller government, lower taxes, and reducing unnecessary regulations that burden families.

Tom's dedication to education is particularly important to me. He understands that a strong education system is the cornerstone of a successful community. Tom will ensure our schools have the resources they need while promoting parental involvement and choice. He believes parents are best equipped to make decisions about their children's education.

In addition to his focus on education, Tom is a strong advocate for public safety and infrastructure. He recognizes the importance of safe neighborhoods and reliable infrastructure for creating a thriving community. His experience has prepared him to tackle these issues with practical solutions.

Tom Sexton’s commitment to conservative principles and genuine concern for our community makes him the ideal candidate for House District 19b. He aims to increase funding for veterans, bring more training programs, and raise neurodiversity awareness.

I encourage my fellow moms, veterans, and all District 19b residents to support Tom Sexton in the upcoming primary. Together, we can ensure a bright future for our children and community.

πŸ’¬ Let's Talk About Stimming πŸ’¬

Parents, let's take a moment to be truthful with ourselves. When your child stims, why do you feel the need to take them to a therapist to stop it? Is it because you are genuinely concerned about their well-being, or is there a part of you that's embarrassed by their behavior?

Stimming is a natural part of how many neurodiverse individuals express themselves and cope with their environment. It’s a form of communication, self-regulation, and comfort. Instead of trying to stop it, let’s understand and support it.

Remember, your child’s stimming is not a reflection of you; it’s a part of who they are. Embrace it. Celebrate it. And most importantly, support them in their journey to be their authentic selves. πŸ’™

πŸ“’ Understanding Masking in Autistic Children πŸ’™

Hey Parents! πŸ‘‹

I want to share something crucial about our amazing autistic children: masking.

Masking is when autistic individuals hide their true selves to fit in with social norms. While it can help them navigate social situations, it can be exhausting and overwhelming. πŸ˜”

πŸ” Why does masking happen?

Pressure to fit in: Our society often values conformity, and our kids might feel they need to hide their unique behaviors to be accepted.
Avoiding negative reactions: They may mask to avoid bullying, criticism, or misunderstandings.
πŸ€” Signs your child might be masking:

Coming home extremely tired after school
Displaying different behaviors at home vs. in public
Difficulty expressing their needs and feelings
🌈 How can we help?

Create a safe space: Encourage your child to be themselves at home without judgment.
Educate others: Teach friends, family, and teachers about autism and the impact of masking.
Support their interests: Celebrate their unique talents and interests, fostering their self-confidence.
Encourage open communication: Let them know it's okay to express how they truly feel.
Remember, every child is unique and special in their own way. By understanding and supporting our autistic children, we can help them thrive without the need to mask. πŸ’–

Let's celebrate the beauty of neurodiversity together! 🌟

Happy Fathers Day to all the Fathers out there and all those who stood up and take on the responsibilities of being a father and role model that choose that role for somebody. It can be a stressful job, no pay, little benefits but a huge responsibility thank you!

πŸ“Š Did you know? 1 in 4 individuals on the autism spectrum has contemplated su***de, and a staggering 1 in 10 has tragically taken their own life. These statistics highlight the urgent need for acceptance and support. Let's encourage our children to speak up and express themselves authentically. Instead of trying to "fix" autistic individuals, let's foster understanding, empathy, and inclusion. Together, we can create a world where everyone feels valued and supported, regardless of their neurodiversity. πŸ’™

As we commemorate the 26th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing, my heart is heavy with the memories of those who were tragically lost. In these moments, we often pledge to never forget, yet as time passes, it can be easy to let those memories fade. But today, I am reminded of the importance of honoring the sacrifices made by our first responders.

In a culture where there is sometimes division and criticism aimed at our law enforcement and emergency personnel, I am called to remember the bravery and dedication they exhibit each day. They carry the weight of unimaginable tragedy on their shoulders and endure challenges that many of us cannot comprehend. It is through their selfless service that they deserve our unwavering respect and gratitude, now more than ever.

So, on this solemn day, I offer a prayer for the families who continue to seek closure and healing from the senseless violence of the past. But I also lift up a prayer of gratitude and protection for our first responders. May they be strengthened in their mission, shielded from harm, and filled with the knowledge that their sacrifices do not go unnoticed. Amen.

🌟 Taking it one step at a time! 🌟

Life can feel like a challenging climb, much like a ladder stretching towards our goals. πŸ§—β€β™‚οΈ But here's the key – focus on the step right in front of you, not the entire ascent. This philosophy isn't just for our ambitions; it's a game-changer for our mental health too! 🧠πŸ’ͺ

πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ Trauma, triggers, and struggles can be overwhelming, like a complex puzzle. Break it down, piece by piece, just like the rungs of a ladder. 🧩 Connect thoughts with body reactions, and slowly, you'll see the bigger picture forming.

🌈 Each small step is a victory. Celebrate those victories, no matter how tiny, and watch as they add up to a giant leap toward healing. Remember, progress is progress, no matter the pace. πŸŽ‰

Let's support each other in taking those crucial steps towards mental well-being. πŸ’š Share your experiences, tips, or favorite self-care practices below. We're all in this together! 🌟
