Building a radio station from scratch is a massive undertaking. We have cleared the regulatory hurdles and secured the license. Now comes the “hardware” phase—the expensive part.

Where Your Donation Goes:
The Transmitter: The beating heart of the station that pushes the signal out to the city.
The Antenna Installation: Climbing the tower and rigging the steel that lets The Kraken speak.
Emergency Alert System (EAS) Decoder: A federal requirement that ensures we can keep Brunswick safe during disasters.
Studio Gear: The microphones, mixers, and processors that make our local voices sound crystal clear.
The Mission: Why We Need to Launch:
Low Power FM (LPFM) is a rare and precious resource. It is the last bastion of truly free, independent media in the United States. When we secured the construction permit for 95.7, we secured a megaphone for Brunswick—a way to share local music, local news, and local emergency information without a corporate filter.
The Kraken isn’t just a radio station; it’s the voice of the community. We are:
Local Artists: Who never get airtime on the big commercial stations.
Local Non-Profits: Who need a voice to reach their neighbors, storytellers
Emergency Ops: providing a lifeline during hurricane season when the internet goes down.
