A little today in music history for you.

On December 2, 1995, Mariah Carey made music history when her duet with Boyz II Men, “One Sweet Day,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. This achievement marked Carey as the first artist to have two consecutive singles debut at the chart’s top position, following the success of “Fantasy” earlier that year.

In 1971, Led Zeppelin released “Black Dog” as a single in the United States, further cementing their influence in rock music.

In 1967, David Bowie released the single “Rubber Band” in the UK, showcasing his early experimentation with musical styles.

On December 2, 1949, Gene Autry’s rendition of “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” entered the record charts, becoming a holiday classic.
