The Maple Grove girls hockey team fell at home to Edina, 2-0 in a Lake conference matchup featuring two of the top ten teams in Class 2A.

The Hornets got on the board first in the second period when Lorelai Nelson netted an unassisted goal.

Bella Prosser ended up with 30 saves for Maple Grove. The Crimson are now 7-4 on the season.

Roger Mourad and Van Voelker scored two goals and an assist each to help lead the Totino-Grace boys hockey team to a 10-1 win over Osseo.

The Eagles led 3-0 after one period, 5-1 after two and then netted five goals in the final nine minutes of the game for the win.

The Crimson were balanced offensively with six players scoring nine or more points.

Monica Stang led the way with 17 points. Sophia Anderson (14 points), Kate Holmquist (12 points), and Mariah Sexton (10 points), all also scored in double-figures.

The Cooper boys basketball team won its first conference game of the year Friday, beating Fridley 53-50.

Sophomore guard Daviion Ellison hit a big three-pointer for Cooper with just over two minutes to play as the Hawks re-took the lead.
