Golden Valley police arrested an Eden Prairie man after he was found slumped over in a car in a turn lane of Highway 55 at Theodore Wirth Parkway. The vehicle was reported stolen. Police said a stolen gun and burglary tools were found in the car.

The 36th Avenue bridge over Highway 169 is back open after it was closed for months. The closure was necessary for a bridge replacement project. But, the closure was a hardship for nearby businesses. Marcos Ayala, owner of Arizona Taco Company said lines Friday were the longest they’ve been in months.

Following recounts, Tuesday's election could bring an unlikely scenario in the Minnesota House of Representatives: a 67-67 tie. The last time the House had an equal number of Republicans and DFLers was in 1979. Former longtime DFL Rep. Lyndon Carlson of Crystal was there for it. He said it took the legislature several weeks to come up with a plan.

Crystal police are looking for a Jeep that smashed into Bella’s Shoppe late Sunday night. Investigators said the driver swerved into the Douglas Drive storefront, then drove away. The business is still open for now, but will have to close temporarily to fix the storefront glass.

A free drive-thru breakfast brought veterans to Plymouth City Hall on Thursday. But they stuck around for the conversations and the memories. “Many of them have told us that they, when they came home from Vietnam, nobody thanked them,” said Jackie Maas, volunteer coordinator. “The fact that we are honoring them today is so important.”
Volunteers and the city of Plymouth served breakfast this week to those who served our country. It meant more than just a free meal.

The City of Maple Grove, MN - Local Government and Life Time announced a land deal Thursday that would allow Life Time to build a new flagship fitness club, while allowing the city to continue its vision to expand the Maple Grove Community Center. Under the the agreement, the city will secure 17.5 acres of land near Maple Grove Hospital. In exchange, Maple Grove will assume ownership of Life Time’s 70,000-square-foot building.
Maple Grove and Life Time announced a land deal that would allow Life Time to build a new club, while helping the city further expand its community center.

CCX Media Receives the NHCC Presidential Medallion!
The Presidential Medallion is awarded by the North Hennepin Community College President to community members who have demonstrated extraordinary service and commitment to the success of the college and its students. CCX Media was recognized for their commitment to telling community stories, sharing stories about students and staff at NHCC, and for streaming graduations. Several board members and staff were present at the Celebrating Generosity reception.

After a long election and months of campaign ads, a little laughter may be in order. A class in Robbinsdale is bringing participants laughter while improving their health. Laughter yoga is a worldwide practice that's been around for more than 25 years.
Laughter Yoga classes, which combine movement, breathing, and laughing, are being offered by Robbinsdale Recreation.

Under MSHSL media rules CCX is not allowed to televise the Anoka vs. Champlin Park Volleyball State Volleyball Quarterfinal game live. We are allowed to play it back on our channel- CCX1 on Comcast in the northwest suburbs, and simultaneously on our website, ccxmedia.org at the following times over the ten days after the game and then not again for 60 days.

Osseo School District Summer Food Program in High Demand
Officials say the demand has grown for the Osseo Area School District’s summer meal program operated out of Park Center High School. “It varies every week, but we are doing probably about double of what we did last summer,” said Rachel Hibbler, nutrition manager with the district.
