The Great California ShakeOut
On October 16 at 10:16 a.m.—the County Office and District will participate in the Great California ShakeOut, California’s statewide earthquake drill, where students and staff practice Drop, Cover, and Hold On and review evacuation and accountability procedures.
These brief drills build calm, confident responses in real emergencies. As we continue to strengthen campus safety, we’re also preparing to implement a new Standard Response Protocol (SRP) districtwide at the beginning of 2026, unifying the plain-language actions used by schools, families, and first responders to enhance communication during any crisis.
