We shut off the cable in Brookhaven back in the summer and the cell service is mediocre at best so I brought along my own entertainment to keep here until this place is sold.

Unfortunately I had a very eventful trip back to Long Island last night. We were out on the Sound when I heard the engines slow down and I started to notice crew members appearing to react to something. Turns out we were heading back to Bridgeport. An announcement was made stating that we would be on our way back to LI after an emergency was dealt with. While at port in BP there was police activity on the starboard side of the ferry while an ambulance waited at the dock. Turns out someone had jumped off the ferry as we were leaving BP harbor. At this point I don’t know for sure if the person survived or not, from what I overheard it doesn’t seem likely. If that’s the case I hope they’ve found peace.

Rearranged my room/studio/guitar shack once again just in time for to message me to say she wanted to put some finishing touches on .belle.curves contribution to an upcoming Warren Zevon tribute album. This cool low-pressure project is the perfect opportunity to see how things will work in the new year when we start working on new original material.

Gillian Welch and David Rawlings were absolutely sublime last night. The crowd at the beautiful Troy Music Hall was so enthusiastic and appreciative it drove the musicians to even greater heights. The two totally acoustic sets (mics only) ended with “Long Black Veil” where they stepped away from the mics altogether and stood at the edge of the stage with just their voices and their guitars that left Delaney and me both a little weepy. 😭 Thanks again to for everything.

@the.belle.curves had a great time last night @the_linda_performing_arts in Albany. Thanks to every who came out on a cold weeknight and thanks to The Linda, @wextradio and @wamcradio for everything.

I bought this today at an estate sale. It’s a vintage “Whee-Lo” and it is now the only thing I need. Consequently everything else I own is available for sale, effective immediately. Oh, except for my “Space Probe” game. I’m keeping that too.

#tbt Halloween style. October 26, 1990 in Huntington NY. The first and last time we played there. When we played longer shows like this I would sing a song or two to give Sporto a rest. This time it was The Who’s “The Seeker”.

I’m back home now after spending about a week in Long Island again. Had dinner with my old friend Al not once but twice. The highlight of the week though, and the main reason we were there was @the.belle.curves set kicking off the @sagharbormusic fest Thursday night. Twas a grand set I must say. Got back here yesterday and spent the rest of the day mixing a few tracks from the set for broadcast today on @wliwfm. We’re gonna be releasing the whole set on BandCamp sometime down the road. It kicks.

New @the.belle.curves album tomorrow everywhere you stream, but since today is another #tbt here’s a little clip of a brand new live video pro-shot by @pallet_media that we recorded on Long Island back in February. Check out the whole vid on The Belle Curves’ YouTube channel. Crank it up.

@jtleonemusic shared this video of @the.belle.curves from two years ago when we played @colonywoodstockny. It was the first time we met Joe and since then he’s become an integral part of what we do, along with @featherheart and @sagecowgirl

@delaneyjhafener playing my sister’s piano for probably the last time. 😭 The good news: my grand-niece will have it at her father’s house. ❤️

@the.belle.curves rocked @terrapinkitchen in #KingstonNY last night and it was a hoot. We’re gonna have some news regarding the next album coming up soon so stay tuned. ❤️

First off, happy Mother’s Day to all those Mamas out there. I’m back in Nisky now after another whirlwind 48 hours on LI/Queens. Listened to “Expert in a Dying Field” by the Beths and Genesis’ “Seconds Out” on the way up here. And lastly here’s a little video that Rashmi took at the Rustkickers “public rehearsal” last night in Astoria.

Happy Easter to those who celebrate and last night’s @the.belle.curves show at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor was an absolute blast! Next up is The Hollow in Albany NY!
