Are you finished with your manuscript and headed toward the query trenches? This one is for you.

Amy Collins is teaching a Proposal and Submission Class for Writers Digest that starts this week. She meets with writers every Thursday night to help them put together their query and submission packages. The class is a good idea whether you want to get an agent or if you are pitching publishers directly. It runs for 5 weeks and at the end of it, you have a proposal, comp titles, a list of targets to query and a MUCH deeper understanding of the publishing industry.

We predicted that this was coming some time ago, and Amazon has just officially made the announcement: Kindle Vella is going away.

“We’ve made the difficult decision to gradually wind down Kindle Vella in February 2025. We are grateful for all of the authors and readers who participated in Kindle Vella and, while we remain committed to experimenting and testing new ideas to deliver unique and delightful experiences for both readers and authors, Kindle Vella hasn’t caught on as we’d hoped.”
