Production company operated by really awesome people The project was known as Divergence. Alright, you got us. We lied... well not really. So here it is.

Accidental Punch Productions (APP) was formed during the spring semester of 2013 at Western Connecticut State Univeristy. Matt had asked is fellow classmates to be a part of a project for a Senior Production and Senior Thesis class. Heather joined on as Executive Producer and Cinematographer, Kevin joined on as Editor and Nikki joined on as Sound Editor and Research Assistant. After completing the

course with a spectacular grade Matt decided that he didn't want to stop with the first 15 minutes and the rest is what we have now! We really are telling the truth about the whole class thing. However, there really is more to the story than just that. So here is the low down dirty shame of it all. Yes that's right you get to know the REAL story behind the name of this production company. First and foremost, you need to know that although someone did get hurt in the process, there is nothing but good chemistry between the people involved. The truth of how Matt came up with the name of Accidental Punch Production (yes we have the proof)

It was a wonderful spring day during the spring semester of 2012 (just to paint a picture for you). Matt was sitting in on an Acting for the Camera class where he was helping to choreograph a fight scene for a series of shorts called Sutton Hills. Well, Needless to say, the choreography went very well... until... You guessed it. Someone got punched. You can watch the entire video there --->

See we weren't lying! We have no porblem being honest with everyone. It's just how we roll! So anyway back to the story. Obviously you can tell someone got hurt. But the story doesn't end there. As you are able to tell, this little incident was an accident as Matt and the actor he punched were OK with the situation (although Matt still feels very guilty about the entire thing). Well after all was said and done, both Matt and the actor noticed one tiny problem. There was blood all over Matt's shirt. Leading us to find out that the actors chin was "busted open". The actor needed staples in his chin. Which knowing this, Matt felt even guiltier for causing any kind of pain to an actor and classmate. So the secret is out. You all now know how Accidental Punch Productions came to be. There is a lot more to the story now. Mainly because it took Matt years to figure out the right name for the company. With short films under the banner and a weekly radio show/podcast on More Like Radio Accidental Punch keeps growing and preparing for the future.
