🍁 “Leaf” It to the Experts This Fall!

Fall in Hallsley means beautiful colors, crisp air… and a whole lot of leaves! 🍂 Thankfully, our friends at Stepping Stone Landscaping are here to keep your yard picture-perfect all season long.

Owner Charles Nelson and his team make it easy with flexible plans tailored to every homeowner:

🍂 Fall Plan – 4–5 visits in November & December to stay ahead of the mess.
❄️ Fall & Winter Plan – Keep your yard clear into January and February for that clean winter curb appeal.
📅 On-Call Visits – Just need a one-time spruce-up before guests arrive? They’ve got you covered.

You can even choose how your leaves are handled — whether you want them neatly piled, bagged for county pickup, or completely hauled away for a spotless finish.

💬 “Martin and his crew did a wonderful job blowing our leaves in cold weather! They left no unblown spots — an excellent job overall!” – Bill S., happy customer
Take the stress out of fall cleanup so you can spend your weekends sipping cider instead of raking piles. 🍎

👉 Call (804) 265-4885 to schedule your cleanup and “leaf” the rest to the pros!

🎀 Health Matters: understanding Triple-Negative Breast Cancer 🎀

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we’re shining a light on an important topic with insight from Dr. Hollie Jones, Nurse Practitioner at Virginia Physicians for Women (VPFW).

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive form of breast cancer that lacks the three most common hormone receptors — meaning it doesn’t respond to the usual targeted treatments. While that makes it more challenging to treat, research and early detection are helping turn the tide.

👩‍⚕️ Dr. Jones explains that women under 50 are more likely to develop TNBC, especially those with dense breast tissue or a family history of breast cancer. But there’s good news — awareness and proactive care make a huge difference.

💗 Prevention & Early Detection Tips:
• Know your family history and discuss it with your doctor.
• Perform monthly self-breast checks.
• Don’t delay your annual screening mammogram — and if you have dense tissue, ask your doctor about adding a breast MRI.
• Talk with your provider about risk factors like long-term birth control use or hormone exposure.
The earlier breast cancer is found, the easier it is to treat — and the better the outcome. 🎗️

💬 “While TNBC treatments are improving, the sooner treatment begins, the better the prognosis,” says Dr. Jones.

👩‍⚕️ Schedule your annual mammogram today with the caring team at VPFW and make your health a priority this October.
