So sad to hear the news about James Lowe. He’s one of the few great rockers I actually knew. He was the founding member of the psychedelic band THE ELECTRIC PRUNES. He was the lead singer and writer of many of the songs. He was full of love and compassion. My deep regrets go out to his lovely family as well. In 2009 me and Eric C***s - both DJ’s at non-profit WPKN RADIO (Bridgeport) helped bring James Lowe and the Electric Prunes to Connecticut as part of the slightly ill-fated ‘California 66 Tour’ that was to honor the Prunes, the band LOVE w/Johnny Echols and especially Sky Saxon from the band THE SEEDS. A month out before the Fairfield, CT show Sky Saxon passed away. The concert was a benefit for WPKN. We were considering to cancel but with Eric’s help he brought in Peppy Castro of the Blues Magoo’s as a replacement. The show went off as planned and it was clearly a memorable psychedelic concert event, We even had a founder of the the 60’s Pig Light Show contribute to the event. (Poster in comments)
