Looking for any aerial footage of the flooding/landslides/etc in the Rosman area. Haven’t seen any but that doesn’t mean it’s not out there. Emily Owen Robinson Jessica Whitmire Jayne Fought or anyone else who might know?
After sharing the footage that we have I’ve been getting requests for footage in various places that show property damage for documenting for FEMA. Basically anyone with aerial footage taken in the first couple days after the hurricane came though please reach out to me. Thank you!

Our friend Steve O'Neil captured some aerial footage on Sept 27 in some areas he could access. He shared it with us to edit and share online. This is footage from Old Hendersonville Road in the general area of TVS, Oskar Blues Brewery, The Family Place and others. The Davidson River pours into the French Broad River in this area. Many homes were flooded.

We're back! 11 days without power/water here on See Off Mountain. Our main road to town, Becky Mountain Road, is closed - indefinitely I guess. But otherwise we were lucky not to have any major property damage. We've seen so much horrific footage of so many places/towns/rivers in WNC. It's just heartbreaking. We've also experienced the strength, creativity, generosity and courage of the people who call WNC home.

Heath shot this footage after Helene had mostly cleared out on September 27. We realized that we were unable to leave our mountain area and that the storm had been pretty bad. Like everyone else we were totally cut off from communication with the outside world and were just trying to assess. (I have cut 2 other videos of river flooding and another landslide, so look for those if you only see this one.)

Behind the scenes photos of a tight interview room set up with Adam Smith, Applied Climatologist with the Climate Science and Services Division at NOAA/NCEI in Asheville, NC. This will be included in an episode for a PBS show called Weathered. He was being interviewed by Trip Jennings in Portland, OR via the laptop. Check the show out if you are interested in climate change and it's impacts, it's really important information and fascinating.
