This Month's Best of East County issue is lovingly dedicated to Colten "Team Hulken" Guerra, a brave young warrior who touched countless hearts during his courageous 10-year battle with pediatric cancer. From the age of 5 to 15, Colten's strength, humor, and radiant spirit inspired an entire community to come together in hope and love.

Though his time with us was far too short, his legacy lives on through the compassion he sparked and the lives he forever changed as we watched, cheered, and cried.

We honor Colten and the Guerra family for reminding us what true courage and community mean.

This bite nite dinner will feature tasty morsels from a dozen fine Bay Area restaurants followed by 3 hours of live country music and dancing to Nashville artists Ric Hines and Jennifer Grant.

A Celebration of Colten’s Life

Please join us as we celebrate our favorite legend — the kid whose endless imagination could entertain us for hours with his humor, voices, and heart, and inspire everyone lucky enough to know him. We’re gathering to share stories, smiles, and a few tears… but mostly, to honor the way Colten lived — full of heart, humor, and originality.

1:00 – 1:45 PM
Mingle & Refreshments:
Visit with family and friends, share a story, a laugh, or one of your favorite Colt-isms. We like to begin with laughter and conversation — it helps us feel connected, and set a warm, connected tone before the service begins.

1:45 – 3:00ish PM
Memorial Service:
A time to reflect, remember, and maybe even laugh through a few tears. We’ll celebrate Colten’s incredible journey — the way he lived with a heart that burned bright.

3:00ish PM
A Sweet Goodbye:
Enjoy Colten’s favorite treats as a gift from him to all of you, share one last laugh (or hug), and stay as long as you’d like or take it to go before we officially say, “See you later, buddy.”

Additional Information:
Weather permitting, we’ll be celebrating both indoors and outdoors: a little sunshine, surely some chaos, and a lot of heart.
