When traveling with our crew it’s typical to bring 8-10 bags on the flight. Our primary camera is always packed in a carry-on bag, along with enough lenses, batteries, and media to handle most situations. If one bag gets lost we can still start the production without a delay! Little things can that make the big differences in a smooth production.

Higher end cameras such as our Gemini 5K S35 Camera shoot flat so that you can capture a greater dynamic range and have a solid base for color grading in post production. A flat and colorless image transforms and comes to life through this process:
Isolate the background and grade it separately.
Color pass with a slight softening on skin tones using tracking and isolating color ranges.
A final pass enhances specific areas for the on-camera talent.

John Deere Waterloo Factory Story
Every production we take on has unique logistics to conquer, but this one truly set the bar high. Glass Eye was tasked with a series of shoots at one of largest manufacturing complexes in the US and we needed to shoot while the factory was working, without hindering any production on the factory floor.
Safety is taken very seriously in these type of locations, so being cognizant of the protocols is key. Additionally, as a reliable partner to John Deere, we were trusted with access to sensitive company processes.
It definitely took a lot of focus flying a drone a space that it wasn’t meant to fly. Basically every sensor on the drone was malfunctioning due to the environment inside the factory.
The scope of this location was incredible and when you’re standing in the middle of it all, there’s a huge sense of pride to be the team chosen to tell John Deere’s story. Coming back to our studio and editing the footage together furthers our passion for the project. This project was translated into multiple languages and is being viewed all over the world. Truly one of our all-time favorite assignments!
