Today
A chance of snow toward daybreak, then snow. Snow may be heavy at times this afternoon. Snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches. Cold with highs in the mid 20s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph, increasing to 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph this afternoon. Chance of snow near 100 percent.
Tonight
Patchy freezing drizzle. Snow, a slight chance of freezing rain and sleet through midnight, then snow toward daybreak. Areas of blowing snow toward daybreak. Additional snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 4 inches. Ice accumulation around a trace. Brisk, cold. Near steady temperature in the mid 20s. Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.

Areas of blowing snow in the morning. Mostly cloudy with snow likely in the morning, then partly cloudy in the afternoon. Total snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches possible. Cold with highs in the upper 20s. North winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of snow 70 percent.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM SUNDAY TO 1 PM EST MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and
8 inches. Isolated higher amounts possible south of I-70. Winds
gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, and west central
Indiana.

* WHEN...From 10 AM Sunday to 1 PM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may
down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel
could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the
Monday morning and evening commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There may be a sharp south to north snowfall
accumulation gradient across Central Indiana. Lower confidence
exists in exactly where this sharp gradient sets up, but latest
guidance suggests it could be near or just north of the Indy metro
area. Snow amounts could vary greatly over short distances. Stay
tuned for further updates on the forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for
the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden
changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the
motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your
destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially
cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is
winterized and in good working order.
