KIDS WHO CARE || Emma Grace Markham

"For Emma Grace Markham, being in motion, in one form or another, has always been a part of her life.

Born in Washington State into a military family as the youngest of four children, Emma Grace lived in Germany and was able to visit a large portion of the world as a young child. Beginning at the age of two, she began to develop a deep love of dance that continued through childhood. While her traveling eventually stilled as she set up residence in Clinton, her dancing ambitions continued to propel her through childhood and adolescence. It was this affinity for dance that eventually led her to work alongside and help inspire the Down syndrome community in the metro Jackson area."

SALUTE TO FIRST RESPONDERS || Lieutenant Matt Campbell

Why did you decide to be a first responder?
Honestly, back in 1999, I was approached by an officer asking me if I had ever thought about being a police officer. I replied no and then a few days later I was a reserve officer. I will try anything once—and that was a little over 24 years ago.

How long have you been with the Clinton Police Department?
I started as a reserve officer in August 1999 while employed at Delphi/ Packard Electric and started full time April 2011.

Share some things you enjoy doing in your spare time.
Anything outside—from hunting, fishing, helping others with outside landscape/home renovation, fixing my old pick-up truck and not thinking about police work.
