Its crazy how easy it is to get into a triggered state(heightened emotional or physiological reaction ). Our environments is filled with those- an event, a comment, or even a memory can activate unresolved feelings or past experiences.

Way out is to identify when you get into a triggered state.

where I explore these six red flags that might indicate you’re in a triggered state

🔴 Hyperarousal: When your emotional response feels too big for the situation, it’s a cue to look within.
🔴 Hypoarousal: The opposite—feeling detached or numb—can also signal an imbalance.
🔴 Polarization: Seeing everything in extremes—black or white, always or never—is often rooted in fear.
🔴 Victimhood: Falling into helplessness or blaming others is part of a well-known psychological pattern.
🔴 180-Degree Turns: A sudden shift in your feelings toward someone may stem from attachment wounds.
🔴 Unhealthy Coping Strategies: From overeating to avoiding confrontation, these behaviors reveal what we’re trying to avoid.

There’s profound freedom in accepting ourselves just as we are. For me, as someone who sometimes experiences anxiety, I used to find myself wanting to escape or dissociate when things got overwhelming. Maybe you can relate—whether it’s the “fight or flight” response or simply a need to ground and recenter.

Through practices like somatic therapy, I learned to listen to what my body needs in these moments. By reconnecting with myself, I discovered that being present with those feelings, instead of pushing them away, was the key. Now, even when those old patterns pop up, I remind myself to breathe, ground, and stay in the moment—sometimes even with the help of a friend or a simple self-soothing gesture.

This journey isn’t about perfection; it’s about changing our relationship with challenging emotions and finding compassion for ourselves along the way.

🌟 Five-Second Blink - Calmed the mind through parasympathetic activation
🌟 Pelvic Floor Lifting (Mula Bandha) - Supported nervous system regulation and connection to inner sensations.
🌟 Breathing Through the Left Nostril- Promoted peace and focus through the Ida channel.
🌟 Humming (Pramari Breath)- Helped center the mind and stimulate the vagus nerve
🌟 Bilateral Tapping- Integrated both brain hemispheres, creating inner balance.
🌟 Movement and Dance- Released emotions and cleared energetic blocks.
