My sweet girl has transitioned from the precious newborn stage to her 4 month milestone. There’s a moment between 3-4months where your newborn starts looking like a “baby” and it’s such a bittersweet moment. It happens almost overnight where one week you have this sweet smoosh and the next we are awake more, a little chunkier and finding the giggles. I love this stage & every but time please slow down 🥹💛
I’ve been quiet for the last few months evaluating where we should take things this year.. although I will be shifting my business a little bit and expanding in some areas I am happy to keep family and precious moments photography and videography apart of what I do. Twelve years. More than a decade.
When you look at the span of an average lifetime, twelve years is so small.
But in motherhood years,
Twelve years is everything.
Just twelve years ago, no one in this picture was sleeping through the night.
(I mean, the seven year old was, I guess. If you can count starting your day at 5am as sleeping through the night)
Twelve years later, everyone sleeps through the night. One of the three even sleeps under a different roof.
Just twelve (short) years ago, I was cutting up chicken nuggets and vegetables, blowing on food to cool it down before little mouths could eat it, and performing endless choo choo trains with mashed sweet potato and carrots at the dining room table.
Twelve years later, no one asks me to cut up (or cool down) their food anymore. And choo choo trains with baby food is now nothing more than a memory joked about from time to time.
Just twelve (short) years ago, I was changing diapers, picking out clothes for their day, brushing teeth, and bathing babies.
Twelve years later, everyone showers and brushes their teeth without being asked. And no one needs me to pick out their clothes anymore.
So much has changed in these last twelve years.
These (short yet long) last twelve years.
And while it kinda’ makes my mama heart ache thinking about all of the changes to come for our family in the next twelve years ahead,
Watching them grow up and become who they were meant to be in this world has become one of my greatest joys in life. A privilege, really, that I will never take for granted.
Tired Mamas of Busy Littles,
I won’t tell you to enjoy every minute.
And I won’t tell you to soak it all in.
But what I will tell you is that the moments you’re sitting in right now,
(the loud ones; the messy ones)
You’ll be dreaming of them all in just twelve (short years) time.

Don’t get me wrong I love using my professional camera so I will be using that as well for some of these images and video tutorials, so I really hope that you enjoy and get inspired to have some fun with your kids, pets and family at home!! today we are starting off super simple and I shot mid day when I had good lighting in my living room. I didn’t use any extra lighting only my front bay window. My favorite editing app would probably be the Lightroom app. Christmas photos don’t have to be super extravagant, I love the simplicity of this and I can’t wait to show you some other fun ways to capture your little ones and your pets.
