On Tuesday, February 4th, the Bowling Green Bobcats faced off against the Silex Owls. The Bobcats secured a decisive 72–29 victory, and the Lady Bobcats were defeated 27-33.

Congratulations to the Bowling Green Bobcats, who claimed the championship by defeating the Winfield Warriors with a final score of 50-43. In the battle for third place, the Clopton Hawks secured a 57-49 victory over the Van-Far Indians.

Day four of the 100th Annual Bowling Green Tournament was nothing short of thrilling!

🏀Clopton Hawks vs. Winfield Warriors
In a battle for a spot in the championship, the Hawks and Warriors went into overtime. Ultimately, Winfield prevailed, 58–54.

🏀Louisiana Bulldogs vs. North Callaway Thunderbirds
Despite a determined effort, the Bulldogs fell to the Thunderbirds, 59–52.

🏀Bowling Green Cats vs. Van-Fair Indians:
In a nail-biter that went into OT, Jack McDannolds sank a three-pointer at the buzzer to secure a 61–58 victory for the Bobcats.

Following an extensive search process that attracted a strong and competitive field of candidates, Mr. Chinn emerged as the top choice due to his deep commitment to the community and his extensive experience within the district.

Mr. Chinn has been a dedicated member of the Bowling Green R-1 family for over a decade, serving in various roles that have allowed him to positively impact students, staff, and the broader school community. His leadership, vision, and passion for education have made a lasting impression, and his appointment as principal is a natural step in his continued service to the district.

🏀 Louisiana Lady Bulldogs vs. Elsberry Lady Indians
In a nail-biting matchup, Elsberry took the win with a final score of 54–50.

🏀 Silex Lady Owls vs. Clopton Lady Hawks
Despite a valiant effort, the Lady Owls fell to the Lady Hawks, 69–46.

🏀 Van-Far Lady Indians vs. North Callaway
North Callaway claimed the win with a final score of 40–33.

🏀 Bowling Green Lady Cats vs. Winfield Lady Warriors
The Lady Cats fought hard, but Winfield took the victory, 51–39.

🏀Louisiana Bulldogs vs. Van-Far: The Bulldogs fell to the Indians 67- 37.

🏀Silex Owls vs. Clopton: Silex battled the Hawks but fell 71- 32.

🏀Winfield Warriors vs. Elsberry Indians: Winfield took the win with a final score 67-45.

On January 28, 2025, the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation in reference to s*xual abuse allegations concerning a juvenile victim in Vandalia, Missouri. As a result of the investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies executed a search warrant at a residence and arrested Dana Ray Hull, age 40, of Vandalia, Missouri for child s*x crimes and failure to register as a s*x offender.

On January 29, 2025, Hull was formally charged by the Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney for the following offenses:

- Count I: with violating Section 566.062, RSMo, by committing the Class U Felony of Statutory So**my Or Attempted Statutory So**my - Deviate S*xual In*******se - Person Less Than 14 Year of Age;

- Count II: with violating Section 566.062, RSMo, by committing the Class U Felony of Statutory So**my Or Attempted Statutory So**my - Deviate S*xual In*******se - Person Less Than 12 Years of Age;

- Count III: with violating Section 566.151, RSMo, by committing the Class U Felony of Enticement Or Attempted Enticement Of A Child (Actor 21 Yrs Of Age Or Older And Child Less Than 15 Yrs Of Age):

- Count IV: with violating Section 589.425, RSMo, by committing the Class E Felony of Fail To Register As A S*x Offender Pursuant To 589.400-425.

Hull remains in the Audrain County Jail on a No Bond Arrest Warrant.

This investigation remains active and no further information will be released at this time.

** All suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law **

Day one of the 100th Annual Bowling Green Tournament was full of action!

🏀Louisiana Lady Bulldogs vs. North Callaway (Middle School Gym): The Lady Bulldogs secured a 56–43 victory and will face the Elsberry Lady Indians on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the High School Gym.

🏀Silex Lady Owls vs. Winfield Lady Warriors (High School Gym): Silex battled through double overtime to win 72–68. They will play Clopton on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Gym.

🏀Van-Far Lady Indians vs. Elsberry Lady Indians: Van-Far fought hard but fell 41–25. They will meet North Callaway on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Middle School Gym.

🏀Bowling Green Lady Cats vs. Clopton Lady Hawks: The Lady Cats put up a fight but couldn’t secure the win, with a final score of 74–23. Clopton will take on Silex on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Gym, while Bowling Green faces Winfield at 7:00 p.m. in the Middle School Gym.

UPDATE: Subject no longer in the area and has been identified.

The Missouri State Highway patrol conducted a traffic stop on Highway 61 southbound north of route UU. A passenger  in the vehicle fled on foot crossing the highway. Pike sheriffs canine assisted the highway patrol and tracking the subject into the area of the landfill located on Highway VV where the track was lost. The person is described as a tall, slender white male wearing a tan, Carhartt jacket and black pants. If you see this person, please contact 911. At this time he’s only being sought for fleeing the traffic stop.
