Deputies remain on scene of an accident with lines down near 3000 North / 9000 East (Momence). 3000 North Rd will be closed between 8000 East and 10000 East for several hours. Find an alternate route, if possible.

Lieutenant La Toya Surratt joined Denny Case (the 2024 Red Kettle Campaign Chair) on WVLI 92.7 "The Valley" during his midday show this morning to give our listeners an update on the current status of this year's Toy Drive for The Salvation Army Kankakee. 🎙🎧

The toy drive ends THIS Friday (December 13th) and they are still in need of approximately 2,000 additional toys to be able to provide 3 items for each Kankakee County child who is signed up to receive gifts this Christmas. The greatest need right now is for toys to give kids ages 0-2 and teenagers up to 15 years-old. 🧸

Those who wish to help may continue to bring new, unwrapped toys to the Salvation Army this week between 9am and 5pm at 148 N. Harrison Avenue in Kankakee. They request that you ring the doorbell and wait for assistance. 🛎

You can also bring your toys this Wednesday and Thursday to our Milner Media office at 292 N. Convent in Bourbonnais between 9am and 5pm, as the radio station is an official SA toy drop-off location this year. 📻🎶

In partnership with Kankakee County State's Attorney Jim Rowe, River Valley Metro and Milner Media, the Dugan Family’s 36th Annual “Fill The Bus” Toy Drive will be taking place today from 10am to 1pm in the parking lot of Dick’s Sporting Goods on Route 50 in Bradley. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy for ages newborn to 13 years old, and help them fill a bus with toys to make sure every child in our community has a bright and joyous Christmas morning. Toys collected during this event will be distributed by local humanitarian organizations. Just look for the River Valley Metro Bus!

We can't wait for tonight's Annual Lighted Bradley Christmas Parade- Stepping off at 6:30pm. Rob West and Scott Smith will be among your announcers for this evenings festivities. Plus! Congratulations to The Manteno High School Chamber Choir!

The MHS Chamber Choir competed in a National Anthem Contest hosted by the Chicago Bears. After submitting a video audition, they were invited up to Halas Hall to do a live audition on Tuesday, November 19th.

Today, we received word that they have won the contest and will be performing the National Anthem at the Bears vs. Lions home game on Sunday, December 22nd. Congratulations to the MHS Chamber Choir! 🐻🏈🎶

Watseka native Austin Crawford is an inspiration to everyone! Austin joined Mike Tomano on the Valley Morning Show Friday November 29th. In 2017 Austin Crawford was diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy, which is a terminal neurological disease affecting 4 to 5 out of 100,000 people. Multiple System Atrophy is a rare disease that damages brain nerve cells, affecting movement, balance, and the autonomic nervous system.
