"I last spent time with you last New Year's Eve. We had one moment together, and it was nice, but I didn’t feel connected to you anymore...And this year I did a lot of things without you."

I made some questionable decisions when I was with you. And our friendship was full of conditions, for example, I could only be friends with people who also got on

"No matter what you fell short of or exceeded this year, thank yourself. Give yourself gratitude for showing up, even on 'those days' where you doubted yourself or thought about giving up completely."

No matter what you achieved this year, celebrate yourself. Every effort, every dedication, every wave of determination, patience

"Each morning is an invitation: to be present, to create beauty, to offer myself as a point of light on this vast lattice of life. Every time I choose to show up—whether in joy or sorrow, gratitude or grief—I remember that my presence matters."

The darkness outside is vast, with the kind of quiet that only the early morning brings. I reach for my brass lighter—a work of art, adorned with etched symbols of

Only recently, we didn't have to pay attention to the daily, hourly, neurotic, hateful, selfish, dishonest, craven ravings of Donald Trump anymore. Now, again, because I care about this society, my community, and our country, I do.

And now, I have to pay attention to the neurotic, selfish, lying rantings of Elon Musk, too! Just when I thought it couldn't get worse...it got twice as bad.

"Solstice celebrations were at one time, and still are in some communities and parts of the world, a time for humans to come together and honor the sacred in their lives. To gather in a good way and create ritual, song, and feasting to celebrate being alive and surviving through the dark times of the year." 👉🏼 https://elejrnl.com?p=4111086

Willpower ain’t enough.

Life is made up, muchly, of habitual patterns. We can dissolve them through meditation practice. But we can also alter them, simply, through cognition. So, in that spirit, here’s…

We can obsess about changing our lives, but if we're all castle in the sky, and no feet on the earth, it'll be tough stuff...

In the spirit of overcoming our holiday anxieties and crazy calendars, these five quotes serve as inspiration to encourage us to lean into the slower pace of the holiday period, pick up a good book, and consciously choose reading as a remedy to the traditional fast pace of this time of year:

With the week before Christmas now upon us (eek), I have found myself completely surrendering to the ritual of stress and panic that I try so hard to resist at this time of year.

"When we think of letting go, we often focus only on what we’re losing. Instead, we can shift our focus to the excitement of new opportunities and the surprise of what’s in store."
