This is not a joke - KVCU will be hosting 4 continuous hours of live ambient music performed by both local and traveling musicians during the big game this February 9th. If you’re not feeling the traditional Super Bowl party, come watch the game with a lush ambient backing. The live feed from this event will also be broadcast on 1190, so you’ll be able to tune into our online stream at radio.1190 to create your own Ambient Super Bowl if you can’t make it to the show! Begins at 3PM, located at 3551 Brighton Blvd, Denver, All Ages, $10 suggested. Tickets at door only, limited capacity.

What’s happening here is that and CU Facilities Management are making some improvements today to the power going into our Marshall Mesa transmitter facility to make us more resilient to windstorms …. and so our AM signal may have a few very brief outages while we cut to and from a generator. Fear not. It’s only momentary and you can always hear us via the power of the interweb at 1190.radio. 📻💻👾

Our studios in the basement of the University Memorial Center were originally the dishwashing area for the original Alferd Packer Grill, which means we have some … interesting leftovers, like the old dumbwaiter that used to haul dirty dishes down and clean dishes up to the cafeteria.
