Jubilee had to have one of kidneys removed today due to a tumor growing on it. Because her activity will be restricted over the next few weeks I wanted to make sure her last day was special and filled with all her favorite things. 🩷 things are going well so far, but we aren’t out of the woods yet. Jubilee has a rare autoimmune disease called uveodermatologic syndrome which is similar to vitiligo. The biggest difference between the two is that UVS attacks the eyes leading to glaucoma, retina detachment and blindness. Even after her going to blind, the disease continued to attack the cells in her eyes which lead us to remove her eyes so she wouldn’t be on steroids which led to further complications. After her eyes were removed her total life turned around! She returned to her spunky self and loves on everyone she meets. How do blind dogs tell time? Blind dogs, like all dogs respond well to routine. She knows the morning she wakes up, goes outside and eats breakfast. She knows when we settle down and start watching tv or playing games it will be time to cuddle up in bed soon.
