Working With Worry: A Workbook For Parents On How To Support Anxious Children
Anxiety is common concern of many BSF Scholars who are eager to achieve and attend schools with competitive environments. Samantha Sweeney, PhD. and Melissa Kilbride, LICSW have written a guide for parents responding to anxiety in their children.
In Working With Worry: A Workbook For Parents On How To Support Anxious Children, Ms. Kilbride and Dr. Sweeney provide a pathway workbook with diagnostic tools, interventions and activities designed to help parents recognize problems and respond proactively. Kilbride, a clinical social worker, and Sweeney a licensed psychologist, authored “Working With Worry” to help families successfully manage their children’s anxiety.
It has five chapters that guide parents through the process of diagnosis, treatment and aftercare. The over 60 activities provide implementable solutions to the anxieties that many children face. The book is a page turner with charts, graphs, images and an easy reader font. Responsive to the times, Kilbride and Sweeney have included “A Note on Covid”, “Working With Worry”, which is a must for any parents’ bookshelf; this chapter describes a roadmap for families seeking to raise children who learn how to deal with the anxieties of everyday living.
