VIDEO OF THE SCHOOL BUS FIRE IN THAILAND THAT KILLED 23 PEOPLE, MOSTLY CHILDREN
On Wednesday, Thai police announced that they are investigating the possibility of negligence in connection with a school bus fire that tragically resulted in the deaths of 23 students and teachers in suburban Bangkok. Initial charges have been filed against the driver.
The incident occurred on Tuesday when the bus, which was transporting six teachers and 39 elementary and junior high school students, became engulfed in flames. The rapid spread of the fire left many individuals unable to escape.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the driver was not exceeding the speed limit; however, police discovered 11 natural gas canisters on board, despite the vehicle being permitted to carry only six.
Although the police have not yet officially determined the cause of the fire, they reported that the driver stated he was operating the bus normally until it lost stability due to a front tire issue. The bus subsequently collided with another vehicle and scraped against a concrete highway barrier. Authorities believe that sparks from this friction may have ignited the highly flammable gas canisters, leading to the fire.
